Fummins & Chummins Compound Turbo Kit | Ford & Chevy Cummins Swap | 350–1,300 HP
The Diesel Power Source® compound turbo kit for Ford Cummins (Fummins) and Chevy Cummins (Chummins) swaps is a complete twin turbo system engineered specifically for Cummins engines installed in Ford and Chevy/GM trucks. This is not a universal kit adapted from a Dodge application. It is purpose-built to clear the heater and AC core on Ford and Chevy chassis while delivering 350 to 1,300 HP, 250–450°F lower EGTs than single turbo setups, and near-stock spool-up.
Diesel Power Source® is the only manufacturer offering compound turbo kits built specifically for Fummins and Chummins swaps. No other company makes a drop-in compound system designed around the clearance constraints of Ford and Chevy engine bays with a Cummins engine.
Building a Chevy Cummins swap? This is the same compound turbo system. Chummins and Fummins kits use the same turbo and manifold components, engineered to clear tight engine bays on both Ford and GM chassis. Select your application at checkout.

Engineered for Ford and Chevy Chassis
The biggest challenge in any Fummins or Chummins compound build is clearance. Ford and Chevy engine bays place the heater core, AC components, steering, and crossmember in locations that conflict with standard Dodge Cummins turbo placement. Generic compound kits designed for Dodge Ram trucks do not fit properly in Ford or Chevy applications.
The DPS Fummins and Chummins compound kit solves this by design. The 3-piece exhaust manifold positions the turbo low and to the rear, clearing the heater/AC box. The charge piping is routed for Ford and Chevy intercooler locations. The entire system is CAD-modeled and CFD-tested for proper fit and optimized airflow in these non-Dodge applications.
Compatible Swap Configurations
- Ford Cummins (Fummins) — F-250, F-350, F-450, Excursion, OBS Ford trucks
- Ford 6.0 to Cummins Conversions — Replacing the 6.0 Powerstroke with a Cummins
- Ford 6.4 to Cummins Conversions
- Ford Gas-to-Cummins Conversions
- Chevy Cummins (Chummins) — Silverado 2500HD, 3500HD, and other GM trucks
- All Cummins Engine Types — 12V, 24V, common rail 5.9, and 6.7L
Important: Due to the custom nature of Ford and Chevy Cummins conversions, some fabrication may be required for full integration with the truck's intake, exhaust, and intercooler systems. Every swap is unique. DPS recommends sending photos of your completed swap showing the engine bay, clearances, and any custom work before ordering so fitment can be confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The same compound turbo system works for both Ford Cummins (Fummins) and Chevy Cummins (Chummins) swap configurations. The turbo, manifold, and core components are the same, engineered to clear the heater/AC core on both Ford and Chevy chassis. Select your application at checkout.
Yes. This is the primary design advantage of this kit. The 3-piece exhaust manifold positions the turbos low and to the rear of the engine, specifically to clear the heater and AC box on Ford chassis. This kit is not adapted from a Dodge application — it is purpose-built for swap engine bays. DPS recommends sending photos of your engine bay before ordering so fitment can be confirmed for your specific build.
This compound kit works with all Cummins engine types commonly used in swaps: 12-valve (5.9L), 24-valve VP44 (5.9L), common rail (5.9L), and 6.7L. For 6.7L Cummins engines, Stage 6 or higher is recommended. The kit is designed for trucks with an already-completed Cummins swap.
The turbo system itself bolts on to the Cummins engine with no cutting or fabrication to the engine. However, due to the custom nature of every Ford and Chevy Cummins conversion, some fabrication may be required for intercooler routing, intake tubing, and exhaust tubing based on your specific engine bay layout (alternator position, battery location, intercooler type, etc.). A downpipe is not included — DPS provides a machined V-band adapter for welding a 4" or 5" pipe, and a close-fit 2nd gen Dodge downpipe is available for $175.
This compound kit supports 350 to 1,300 HP depending on stage selection, fueling, and supporting modifications. Stage 3 starts at 625 HP and Stage 8 supports up to 1,100 HP. Head studs are recommended above 48 PSI of boost. Fire rings are recommended above 55 PSI. All DPS compound systems are capable of 55+ PSI and are fully adjustable.
A single turbo is always a compromise between spool-up and top-end airflow. A small turbo spools fast but chokes at higher RPM. A large turbo flows well on top but is lazy off the line. Compounds eliminate that trade-off. The S300 high-pressure turbo lights up almost instantly at low RPM for responsive towing and daily driving, while the S400 atmospheric turbo carries the top end for sustained power under load. The result is 250–450°F lower EGTs than a single turbo, a boost-to-drive pressure ratio approaching 1:1, and a powerband that feels strong from idle to redline.
This kit is designed for trucks with an already-completed Cummins swap. The engine should be mounted, the transmission mated, and the basic engine bay layout finalized before ordering. DPS recommends sending photos of your completed engine bay showing clearances and any custom work so fitment can be confirmed and the correct stage recommended for your build goals.
Compounds are one of the best towing upgrades for any Cummins swap. The two-stage compression delivers cooler, denser intake air, which lowers EGTs by 250–450°F compared to a single turbo under the same load. Lower EGTs mean the engine runs safer on long grades and heavy pulls. The S300 high-pressure turbo also provides near-stock spool-up so the truck responds immediately when you need power, rather than waiting for a large single turbo to build boost.
The compound kit handles the turbo system. Supporting modifications depend on your power goals and Cummins engine type. For most towing and daily driving builds (Stages 3–5), stock injectors and a quality tune are often sufficient to start. Higher power builds benefit from larger injectors, a higher-volume fuel pump (or VP44 upgrade on 24V trucks), and head studs above 48 PSI of boost. DPS can help you match the right stage to your fuel system and power goals.
You can, but it means two separate installations and buying a manifold twice. If compounds are your end goal, starting with the compound kit from the beginning saves money and labor. The compound kit includes the exhaust manifold, both turbos, and all piping, so everything is installed in one job. If you are unsure about your power goals, contact DPS to discuss whether a single turbo or compound system is the better starting point for your build.

Fummins
Thanks so much guys, fummins compounds fit like a glove. 97 f350 with 74k original miles , 6k on 24 valve Cummins & 47re swap ,shackle reversal , cross over steering and around 10 inch of lift .rolling on 37s .funny thing is I built this to pull our toy hauler. Can’t wait to pull with compounds. By the way I have to tell you I was skeptical of a fummins compound kit due to the lack of space but your guys on the phone assured me this kit would work. Wish I would have found you guys before I first installed my Cummins with a single BD turbo

Fitment
These kits just fit and work with the HVAC box. I did have to modify the downpipe but I knew that going into the project. Dropped a 5.9L12V into a 2005 F350. Awesome power and torque, now just need to get the trans built.

Best compound kit for Ford/Cummins project
This kit just fits! I went with the smaller 62/65 with s475 for my 2002 Excursion conversion. Best family tow vehicle. The kit fit and you told me I would have to modify the downpipe to fit and I just had a muffler shop do a custom fit downpipe and exhaust for me. We look forward to many more years of family camping with this new setup! Thanks DPS
