Diesel Power Products for Cummins Diesel Engines

Compound Turbo Kits | Single Turbo Upgrades | Exhaust Manifolds | VGT Replacement Turbos

Diesel Power Source® engineers and manufactures performance diesel products specifically for Cummins applications — 5.9L 12V, 5.9L 24V, 5.9L Common Rail, 6.7L, ISX15, X15, and 4BT. Every product is built in the USA and CFD-tested before production.

Whether you're looking for a direct stock replacement with better performance, a single turbo upgrade, or a full compound turbo kit for serious towing and power — the right product is below.

Compound Turbo Kits — The Biggest Improvement Available

A compound turbo kit runs two turbos in series — a smaller high-pressure turbo and a larger atmospheric turbo — splitting the compression work between them. The result is more complete combustion, 200–400°F lower EGTs, better fuel mileage, and more power across the entire RPM range. DPS compound kits include both turbos, exhaust manifold, all piping, oil lines, and hardware.

Kit Configuration Max HP Best For
S362/68 over S475 625 HP Towing, daily driving, entry-level compound
S363/68 over S475 650 HP Daily driver with more top-end headroom
S363/73 over S475 700 HP Versatile — towing and performance
S363/73 over S480 750 HP Performance builds with towing capability
S366/73 over S480 1,100 HP High-performance, sled pulling, racing

All compound kits are available with optional Turbonator® VGT upgrade (adds exhaust braking and 200–300 RPM faster spool) and ball bearing CHRA upgrade (~150–200 RPM faster spool).

Add-A-Turbo Kits — Compound Performance, Keep Your Factory Turbo

The Add-A-Turbo kit adds a large DPS atmospheric turbo in front of your factory turbo, turning it into a compound system without replacing the factory unit. All emissions equipment stays intact. This is the lowest-cost path to compound turbo performance.

Single Turbo Upgrades

DPS single turbo upgrades are built on the BorgWarner S300 and S400 platforms — more robust construction, larger compressor and turbine wheels, lower EGTs, and more power than the stock turbo in a clean single-turbo package.

Stock Replacement VGT Turbos — 6.7L Cummins (2007.5–2024)

The factory HE300VG VGT on the 6.7L Cummins eventually develops Stuck Turbo Syndrome — carbon buildup on the vane assembly causes sluggish throttle, weak exhaust brake, and eventually limp mode. DPS replacement turbos bolt directly in with a new pre-calibrated electronic actuator included.

  • DPS HE363VG — 63mm compressor, stock–550 HP, direct bolt-in with new actuator
  • DPS HE366VG — 66mm compressor, 425–650 HP, largest HE-series option

Exhaust Manifolds

All DPS exhaust manifolds are cast from High Silicon Molybdenum Ductile Iron (HSMD), CFD-tested for optimal flow, and pressure-tested before shipping. Multi-piece expansion joint design prevents the cracking and warping that single-piece OEM manifolds develop over time.

ISX15 and X15 Products

DPS manufactures turbo conversion kits, compound kits, and exhaust manifolds specifically for the Cummins ISX15 and X15 commercial diesel engine. ESN verification required on all ISX orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Diesel Power Source® products are engineered primarily for Cummins applications — 5.9L 12V (1989–1998), 5.9L 24V (1998.5–2002), 5.9L Common Rail (2003–2007), 6.7L (2007.5–2024), ISX15, X15, and 4BT. We also offer Fummins and Chummins compound kits for Cummins-into-Ford and Cummins-into-Chevy conversions. A limited lineup is available for Ford Powerstroke applications.

No. Many DPS customers run compound turbo kits on completely stock fueling with zero other upgrades. EGTs drop 200–400°F, the truck tows better, and fuel mileage improves — all without a tune. Tuning unlocks more power potential but is not required for the kit to work and deliver real benefits.

A compound turbo kit includes two new DPS turbos, a new exhaust manifold, and all piping. An add-a-turbo kit keeps your factory turbo and adds one new large DPS turbo in front of it. The add-a-turbo kit costs less because only one new turbo is included, and it works with your factory emissions equipment. A full compound kit delivers the biggest EGT reduction and power gains since both turbos are new and optimized together.

The stock 6.7L Cummins rotating assembly is reliable to approximately 600–750 RWHP for street and daily use. Most builders recommend capping at 650–700 RWHP without aftermarket rods for long-term reliability. The transmission typically needs attention first — around 400 RWHP — well before the bottom end becomes a concern.

It depends on the product. Our HE300VG replacement turbos, HE363VG, HE366VG, and add-a-turbo kits are all fully emissions compatible — EGR, DPF, and DEF all remain intact. Full compound kits and 3rd gen swap kits require emissions equipment removal. Diesel Power Source® does not sell emissions delete components.

Most products ship within 24–48 business hours. DPS maintains strong inventory on all advertised products. For confirmed lead time on a specific configuration call 801-930-8404 or email sales@dieselpowersource.com.

Warranty terms vary by product. Warranty registration paperwork must be completed and submitted for coverage to be valid. Professional installation is not required — DIY installation is covered. Contact DPS for specific warranty terms on the product you're purchasing.

    5.9 Compounds

Posted by Lance Dehne on Jun 19, 2023

I had the compound kit on my 5.9 Cummins for 4 years now. It made a huge difference in towing trailers. It spools up quick for when I need to get the camper or the trailer moving from a stop. Also, it does not take a lot of effort to make a pass on someone when I'm in a hurry. I would recommend this kit to anyone, whether they want to play or work.

    Hello, I

Posted by Greg P on Mar 31, 2023

Hello,I do not normally comment on my truck part purchases, but I felt the quality of your kit was worth taking the time for. I recently purchased one of your stocker / S475 kits for my 06 ram. I have to say I am very impressed with the quality and packaging you guys do. This is my first compound turbo set up. I looked at many kits before purchasing yours. I looked at cheaper and more expensive. I had nearly talked myself into buying a cheaper kit. After receiving your kit I was immediately satisfied with spending the extra money on it. I opened the kit and was very impressed with the packaging alone. I thought to myself, if it performs half as well as it is packaged, I was going to be very happy. I had one issue after installation, but it turned out to be my fault for assuming. I assumed the tube from the output of the S475 to the input of my stock turbo was molded to the connector that uses V band clamp onto the S475. I had one extra clamp once installed and I thought it was odd, however I took the truck for a test ride and was very impressed with the faster spool up but the system got very loud and not as much boost as I had anticipated. I found out very quickly where the extra clamp went. After that mistake was remedied, the system is performing flawlessly. I am very satisfied with this kit. I look forward to putting it to the test towing in the Colorado mountains. I will be purchasing your intake for this same truck as well as probably upgrading my stock turbo to one of your new ball bearing turbos in the near future. I will not hesitate to recommend you guys to anyone who asks.

    Towing

Best thing I could have done sooner was do compounds for my 6.7Cummins! Stock fuel with some items not on the truck and it tows awesome. Steep grades and EGTs issues are a thing of the past! Great kit

    98 12V

Hey fellas, did some upgrades after your compound set up. Hamilton stage 1 head, full manual valve body, 125 industrial injectors. Makes 683 hp and just under 1300tq at 7200 ft. Egts never get over 1100 no matter what I’m pulling or how I have my attitude adjusted. Tuned by grand by truck shop. This thing is a pulling beast. Thanks again.Â
