T4i 2-Piece Exhaust Manifold for 6.7 Cummins | Stock Turbo Replacement | 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500/3500

The Diesel Power Source® T4i exhaust manifold is a direct OEM replacement for the factory exhaust manifold on 2007.5-2018 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins engine. This manifold uses the factory T4i turbo flange and bolts directly to your stock HE351VE or HE300VG turbocharger with no modifications. CFD testing confirms approximately 72% more exhaust flow than the factory manifold, while solving the cracking, warping, and shrinkage problems that plague the OEM single-piece casting.

Designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) testing, the DPS 2-piece design allows the manifold to expand and contract with heat instead of fighting it. The result is a manifold that lasts significantly longer than the factory casting, reduces exhaust gas temperatures by approximately 25-75°F (particularly on the rear cylinders), and improves turbo spool and throttle response.

Does not fit 2013-2018 Cab & Chassis models (Ram 3500/4500/5500 Cab & Chassis). Those trucks use a different exhaust routing and EGR port configuration. This manifold fits 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup models only.

Why the Factory 6.7 Cummins Manifold Fails

The factory 6.7 Cummins exhaust manifold is a single-piece casting that spans all six cylinders in one rigid structure. Because the 6.7L is a long inline engine, every heat cycle forces that rigid casting to expand and contract across its full length. Over thousands of cycles, the manifold develops cracks and shrinks permanently, shifting the exhaust ports out of alignment with the cylinder head ports. That misalignment drives gasket failures, bolt stress, exhaust leaks, and visible cracking - most commonly around the rear cylinders where temperatures run hottest.

Once the manifold starts leaking, exhaust energy that should be driving the turbine escapes through the gaps. EGTs climb, boost drops, fuel economy suffers, and the problem accelerates. This is one of the most consistent failure points on high-mileage 6.7 Cummins trucks. Replacing a cracked manifold with another factory-style single-piece unit restarts the same cycle.

DPS has tested competitor replacement manifolds in this application and documented approximately 40 HP of power loss on trucks in the 400-450 HP range - the result of oversized runners that slow exhaust velocity and force the turbo to reaccelerate exhaust through the turbine. Runner sizing matters more than runner diameter, and that requires CFD to get right.

How the DPS 2-Piece Design Solves the Problem

The DPS T4i manifold uses a 2-piece design with an expansion joint between the front and rear sections. Each section expands and contracts independently with heat cycling, eliminating the internal stress that causes factory manifolds to warp, shrink, and crack. The two sections are hydraulically pressed together and pressure-tested before shipping, so they arrive as one assembled, leak-verified unit.

Cast from HSMD (High Silicon Molybdenum Ductile iron), the DPS manifold uses material rated approximately 200°F higher than traditional cast iron - a direct structural advantage over the factory casting. The alloy composition also resists the thermal fatigue that initiates cracking in OEM manifolds.

This is also why single-piece stainless steel manifolds are the wrong choice for this engine. Stainless steel expands and contracts at nearly twice the rate of ductile iron. While the manifold itself may not crack, it transfers that expansion force into the cylinder head, head bolts, and gaskets - causing failures in those components instead. The DPS HSMD 2-piece design absorbs thermal movement internally and protects both the manifold and the head.

Coating and Heat Rating

DPS T4i manifolds are finished with a black high-temperature ceramic coating rated for sustained exhaust temperatures up to approximately 1,400°F. This reduces surface heat radiation, protects against corrosion, and maintains a clean appearance under normal operating conditions.

Coating Discoloration Notice: If exhaust gas temperatures exceed approximately 1,470°F, the coating may shift from black to gray. This is a visual indicator of excessive heat exposure and does not affect the structural integrity or performance of the manifold. Discoloration resulting from high EGT conditions is not covered under warranty. If your truck is regularly exceeding these temperatures, address the underlying heat issue (tuning, fueling, airflow) before replacement.

About the Manifold Joint Seal

Every DPS multi-piece manifold uses a hard, metal-to-metal press-fit seal at the expansion joint - no gasket. The seal tightens through thermal expansion and performs best at driving temperatures (approximately 750°F and above). Minor seepage at cold idle is normal and expected behavior on any joint-style manifold and is not a sign of a defective part.

Every manifold is hydraulically pressed on a precision alignment jig and pressure-tested leak-free at room temperature before it leaves the facility. For a full explanation of how the press-fit seal works, why a soapy-water idle test is not a valid diagnostic, and how the multi-piece design outlasts single-piece manifolds:

Common 6.7 Cummins Exhaust Manifold Failure Symptoms

If your truck is showing any of these signs, the exhaust manifold may be cracked, warped, or leaking:

  • Ticking or hissing noise at idle that fades as the engine warms up
  • Visible soot or black residue around the manifold-to-head gasket area
  • Higher than normal EGTs, especially under load or towing
  • Slower turbo spool or reduced boost pressure
  • Exhaust smell in the cab or engine compartment
  • Recurring gasket failures after previous manifold bolt re-torques

Which 6.7 Cummins Manifold Do You Need?

Manifold Turbo Compatibility Best For
T4i Stock Replacement (this product) Factory HE351VE / HE300VG (T4i flange) 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500/3500 pickups keeping the factory turbo
T4 Performance Manifold Aftermarket S300/S400 turbos (T4 flange) 2007.5-2018 trucks upgrading to an aftermarket T4 turbocharger
5G Exhaust Manifold Factory HE300VG (5th Gen turbo flange) 2019-2024 Ram 2500/3500 pickups

Bundle Option

Manifold and turbo failures feed each other on high-mileage 6.7 trucks - restricted exhaust flow accelerates turbo wear, and a worn turbo raises EGTs that stress the manifold. Replacing both in one job eliminates multiple failure points at one labor cost. If your turbo is also due for replacement:

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This manifold uses the factory T4i turbo flange and bolts directly to the stock HE351VE (2007.5–2012) and HE300VG (2013–2018) turbochargers with no modifications or adapters needed. If you're upgrading to an aftermarket S300 or S400 turbo, you'll need a T3 or T4 Performance Manifold instead, due to the different turbo flange aftermarket turbos have.

The factory manifold is a single-piece casting that expands and contracts with every heat cycle. Over time, this causes the manifold to permanently shrink, shifting the exhaust ports out of alignment with the cylinder head. The misalignment leads to gasket failures, exhaust leaks, and eventually visible cracks in the casting. The DPS 2-piece design with an expansion joint allows each section to move independently, preventing the internal stress that causes cracking.

No. This manifold fits Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 pickup body trucks only, for model years 2007.5-2018. Cab and Chassis models (Ram 3500/4500/5500 C&C) use a different exhaust routing and EGR port configuration. Some C&C trucks have only one EGR port; DPS manifolds have two. If you have a Cab and Chassis truck, contact DPS at 801-930-8404 with photos of your factory manifold before ordering.

Yes. Stainless steel expands and contracts at nearly twice the rate of ductile iron. While a stainless manifold may not crack itself, it transfers that expansion force into your cylinder head, head bolts, and gaskets, causing failures in those components instead. The DPS 2-piece ductile iron design with an expansion joint absorbs thermal movement internally, protecting both the manifold and the head.

This manifold replaces Cummins part number 5301441 and Mopar/Chrysler part numbers 5135788AB, 5135788AC, 68027070AA, 68027070AB, 68210184AA, 68210184AB, and 68482545AA.

Yes. The DPS T4i manifold includes both EGR port connections in the same locations as the factory manifold. If you are retaining the factory EGR system, the Complete Hardware and Gasket Kit includes the EGR cooler mounting hardware needed to remount the cooler after the install.

    Top quality!

Posted by Charles on Jun 5, 2026

Very happy with the fitment, the quality and strength of material, the options of fasteners, packaging and speed of arrival. I gave 4 stars for price being higher than my customers initial expectation, and for the lack of instructions on installing one stud in head before starting any other stud or bolt. Resulting in having to remove studs on turbo charger in frame. The bottom hole on #4 will not allow a bolt or stud in the hole if the manifold is already bolted on. Other than that, its a great product and great company. I will be using DPS in the future.

Posted by Drew Baker on Jan 29, 2025

As a mechanic, I've installed several exhaust manifolds on 6.7 Cummins engines, and the DPS T4i Exhaust Manifold really stands out for its ease of installation. The design is well thought out, making it straightforward to align and secure, even in tighter engine bays. Typically, aftermarket parts can be hit or miss, but this manifold fit perfectly without any adjustments needed. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their exhaust system without a hassle. Definitely recommend it for both DIYers and pros alike.
