ISX15 / X15 Non-EGR Exhaust Manifold Hardware & Gasket Kit | Stud & Nut (Performance Upgrade)

The Diesel Power Source® ISX15 / X15 Non-EGR Manifold Hardware & Gasket Kit (Stud & Nut) is the upgrade fastener configuration for installing the DPS Non-EGR ISX15 / X15 Exhaust Manifold. It's the same gasket and turbo-hardware scope as the Bolt & Spacer version of this kit, but with manifold studs and serrated flange nuts instead of long bolts and spacers. The configuration trades a few minutes of installation time for significantly easier removal years later.

This is the stud-style upgrade over the OEM bolt-and-spacer configuration. The choice between the two comes down to how often the manifold is expected to come back off — vocational engines, off-highway equipment, and trucks on heavy PM schedules see real labor savings from studs over the life of the engine. If the truck is on a stock PM cycle and the manifold isn't coming off again, the Bolt & Spacer kit is the simpler choice.

Pairs with the DPS Non-EGR ISX15 / X15 Exhaust Manifold (MAN1016 / MAN1017). Kit contents cover the manifold-to-head studs and serrated nuts, all multi-section manifold gaskets, the turbo flange gasket, and the turbo flange hardware. No EGR gasket — this manifold doesn't have an EGR connection.

Studs for Engines That Get Worked On

Non-EGR ISX15 and X15 engines tend to live in environments where the manifold comes off more than once over the life of the engine — vocational dump and mixer trucks, oilfield service rigs, marine vessels with regular dry-dock service intervals, agricultural equipment with seasonal teardowns, and competition trucks that get rebuilt between race seasons. In all of those cases, the labor cost of getting the manifold off is the dominant cost of the next manifold-related job. Studs cut that cost.

Why Stud Removal Is Faster Than Bolt Removal

After a few years of heat cycling, bolt threads in the cylinder head accumulate corrosion and galling at the engagement surface. Removing them often means breaking loose seized threads, sometimes drilling a head and re-tapping when one snaps. Studs sidestep that entirely — the stud stays threaded into the head while you back the nut off the manifold side, and the stud-to-head joint sees far less thermal cycling than a bolt's threaded engagement does.

Multi-Section Gasket Set

This is the same gasket scope used in the Bolt & Spacer version: a center gasket plus four end gaskets to seal each section of the multi-piece DPS manifold to the head, the turbo flange gasket, and the turbo oil drain gasket. The DPS multi-section design is what protects the cylinder head from thermal warpage on these engines, and proper section-by-section sealing is what makes it work.

Serrated Nuts Resist Loosening

The kit's serrated flange nuts have a serrated under-face that bites into the manifold flange surface. That's the difference between a flange nut you torque once and forget, and a plain nut that needs re-torque after the first heat cycle. The serration is a small detail with real consequences across thousands of operating hours.

Who This Kit Is For

  • Owner-operators and fleet maintenance shops servicing non-EGR Cummins ISX15 and X15 engines
  • Class 8 trucks running non-EGR ISX15 / X15 powertrains
  • Long-haul over-the-road trucks accumulating high mileage between service intervals
  • Vocational and high-load applications putting extra thermal stress on manifold hardware
  • Shops and fleets that want stud-mount durability for easier future service work
  • Builders who want all install hardware and gaskets in a single SKU

Key Features

  • Performance stud-and-nut manifold mounting — replaces OEM-style flange bolts
  • Serrated flange nuts — resist vibration loosening on heavy-duty applications
  • Built for non-EGR engines — no EGR gasket since this manifold doesn't connect to an EGR system
  • Multi-section gasket set — center plus end gaskets sized for the DPS multi-piece manifold
  • Direct fit for the DPS Non-EGR ISX15 / X15 Manifold
  • Single-source convenience — every gasket and fastener in one SKU

Benefits

  • Reduces manifold-bolt loosening and fastener fatigue from repeated heat cycling
  • Improves long-term sealing across all manifold-to-head sections and turbo flange
  • Makes future manifold removal easier — back off nuts instead of fighting seized bolts
  • Eliminates the need to source manifold gaskets, turbo studs, and mounting hardware from multiple suppliers
  • Reduces shop time per manifold replacement — every part needed is in one box

Fitment

  • Cummins ISX15 and X15 non-EGR engines
  • Pairs with the Diesel Power Source® Non-EGR ISX15 / X15 Exhaust Manifold (MAN1016 / MAN1017)
  • Class 8 commercial trucks running non-EGR ISX15 / X15 powertrains
  • Fits all DPS multi-section ISX15 / X15 non-EGR manifolds with the factory-style turbo flange

Note: This kit is for the non-EGR ISX15 / X15 manifold. If your engine is EGR-equipped, see the ISX15 / X15 EGR Manifold Hardware Kit, which adds the EGR gasket. If you're running the DPS T6 performance manifold for S400 frame turbos, see the T6 hardware kit instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally yes, with inspection. Studs that come out clean and undamaged can typically be reinstalled, often with new nuts. Studs that show galling, thread damage, or visible necking should be replaced. Cost-wise, replacing the nuts is more common than replacing the studs themselves at routine service.

The DPS Non-EGR ISX manifold (MAN1016 / MAN1017) is used in marine, industrial, agricultural, and stationary ISX15 / X15 installations in addition to off-highway truck applications. If your application uses the same head bolt pattern as the factory ISX, the manifold and this hardware kit will fit.

No. This kit is gasket-set-sized and bolt-length-sized for the DPS multi-section non-EGR manifold (MAN1016 / MAN1017). The factory single-piece manifold uses a different gasket configuration and shorter bolts. Installing this kit on a factory manifold would result in mismatched gaskets and incorrect bolt engagement.
