S480 Turbo / S300 Twin Turbo Kit for Dodge Cummins Compounds
High Power & EGT Control for Your Cummins Build
The DPS Dodge Cummins Compound Kit pairs the high-performance S480 turbo (now updated to our new S481) with an S300 high-pressure turbo. This twin turbo setup is engineered for serious performance, towing, and thermal control, delivering up to 1100 HP and lowering EGTs by 250–450°F.
Available Compound Turbo Stages
- Stage 3.5: Max 625 HP – S362/68/.70 Ball Bearing over S475
- Stage 4.5: Max 675 HP – S363/68/.70 Ball Bearing over S475
- Stage 4.5B: Max 675 HP – S363/68/.70 Ball Bearing over S480
- Stage 5.5: Max 750 HP – S363/73/.80 Ball Bearing over S475
- Stage 6.5: Max 750 HP – S363/73/.80 Ball Bearing over S480
- Stage 8.5: Max 1100 HP – S366/73/.80 Ball Bearing over S480
How to Choose Your Compound Kit
Start by determining your desired horsepower. Our compound systems boost power by 25–30%. Choose the appropriate stage from the list above and select it from the drop-down menu during purchase.

Why DPS Compound Turbos Perform Better
Our dual-stage compressors work in their most efficient ranges, delivering cooler air—over 100°F cooler per PSI than single turbos. The boost and exhaust drive pressures approach a 1:1 ratio, maximizing combustion and reducing heat. More oxygen means more power and cleaner burn, like a jet engine. These features result in faster spool-up and massive gains in drivability and reliability.
Head Stud Recommendations
- 1988–2002 Cummins: Head studs for 48+ psi; fire rings for 55+ psi
- 2003–2007 Cummins: Head studs for 55+ psi; fire rings for 65+ psi
- 2007.5–2018 6.7 Cummins: Head studs for 48+ psi; fire rings for 55+ psi
Our kits are capable of producing over 55 psi of boost, but are fully adjustable based on your setup.

Truck Fitment
Fits all Dodge Ram Cummins model years from 1988 to 2018, including: 1988–1993 12V, 1994–1998.5 12V, 1998.5–2002 24V, 2003–2007 5.9L CR, 2007.5–2018 6.7L CR.
With proper fueling and tuning, S480-based compounds commonly support ~900–1,100+ hp. The S480 itself is often rated around 1,200+ hp as an atmosphere charger depending on the exact wheel and housing. Your final number depends on injectors, pump, tuning, altitude, and load.
Yes. Compounds are widely used to reduce EGTs under load because the work is shared between two stages and drive pressure is better balanced. Reductions of a few hundred degrees are commonly reported when sized and tuned correctly.
Compounds widen the usable powerband, cut lag, and keep EGTs in check compared to a large single charger at the same power level, which helps towing and drivability.
